A friend of mine was recently looking to kit out their backyard with new equipment and asked me if Flexzilla hoses were worth looking at. They just got a great house in Florida where they are planning to sow some grass to make a small lawn.

Check out below all Flexzilla garden hoses we are talking about here:
Flexzilla is a brand which is owned and operated by Legacy products. They also have a range of greasing equipment, tire maintenance systems and a lot of other outdoor and workshop equipment.
There are many Flexzilla products in the range, which was created in 2007. The hoses have been a big part of their range since 2013 and started to gain recognition and win awards for innovation shortly after in 2014 for its unique features.
The company is based in Iowa, and while the Flexzilla range is relatively new, they have actually been innovating and creating exciting new products since 1986, out of their base in Iowa. Their company mission is simply “To create innovative products that customers are passionate about.”
It isn’t just about innovating and creating new and exciting products though. The company also pride themselves on their quick shipment, support service, and prices which don’t make your eyes water too much.
If you are interested in seeing the huge range that Flexzilla offers you can check out their catalog. This has far more products than just garden hoses like we’re focusing on in this article.
What makes Flexzilla Hoses So Special?
Flexzilla’s rubber does not get stuck in position. Presumably, this is where the ‘Flex’ part of the name comes from.
Some describe rubber that stays in position as ‘memory’ rubber (a bit like memory foam on a bed). This can cause issues if you hose is left in one position for a long time, especially if it is coiled up! Some hoses can become stuck in position and this means you don’t get their full length and they are far more awkward to use. Flexzilla avoids this with a flexible and pliable rubber material.
This flexibility doesn’t just mean that it is easy to uncoil, it is easy to coil in the first instance. This means that storing your hose can be far simpler.
The temperature range that this performs within is roughly -40′F to 150’F.
It means whether it is incredibly cold or incredibly hot where you are, the Flexzilla hose you choose should be able to deal with it.
Naturally, if the temperature is extremely cold you can have some issues with freezing, but this is not due to the hose itself. So, when doing a winterization of your garden, don’t forget to take care of your garden hose among other things.
Because of the flexibility of the hoses, kinks can be easily removed. Even though some hoses claim that they are resistant to kinks, it is very difficult to avoid getting them. However, the Flexzilla products have so much flexibility that kinks can be shaken and straightened out with ease.
Even if you kept your hose rolled for a long time on a hose reel for storage purposes, it won’t get any kinks.
Lightweight Yet Still Durable
Another of the unique selling points of the Flexzilla range is the hybrid polymer material that they are made out of. This manages to be flexible, lightweight and still as durable as some of the toughest hoses out there.
It is even drinking water safe to allow you to transport water straight from your filtered kitchen water if you need to. Alternatively, you can organize an outdoor wash station with a garden sink that can be used for both washing and drinking.
Limited Lifetime Warranty
Though some users have explained that they have had some problems with claims on the warranty of Flexzilla hoses, most of them offer a limited lifetime warranty. If nothing else, this shows that Legacy products are immensely confident in their products and the quality they have.
The below video explains a lot of the positives about Flexzilla products. Though it is designed as a video about customizing the size of your hoses, the first section of the video discusses the benefits of the materials and features of the range.
Flexzilla Garden Hose Reviews
Now, check the reviews of three best Flexzilla garden hoses we chose for you.
Flexzilla HFZG575YWS – Flexible Hose with SwivelGrip
The SwivelGrip action of this hose is designed to stop twists and kinks when you are coiling and uncoiling or even just as you move around your backyard. The technology works to rotate inside your grip and release any kinks quickly so they don’t have an impact on the task at hand. This is helped by the gripping material on the ends of the hose which are both male and female connections. It is great for attaching to water and also for adding other accessories. These ends are made of aircraft grade aluminum.
The HFZG575YWS is 75 feet long and has and has a standard 5/8″ connection. It is worth remembering that when estimating the length of hose you need, you should probably round up in length. The fact that this won’t kink means or get stuck means even in a bigger size it won’t be awkward or get in the way. The outer cover is resistant to both abrasion and corrosion over time. This is one of the many hoses in their range with a lifetime warranty.
Like the other products we’ve mentioned, it is safe for use with drinking water and for use in all sorts of weather conditions. Even if you need to use your hose in minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit, it won’t be a problem for the HFZG575YWS.
This is a super durable product and even comes with crush resistant fittings so you won’t have to worry about it taking a bit of a beating from day to day. It isn’t the cheapest hose you will ever see but the lightweight nature and flexibility are probably the reason (or justification) for this.
The Flexzilla HFZG550YW is very similar to the HFZG575YWS and not just because of their not-so-catchy names!
It has the same hybrid polymer material which is coiled to avoid any kinks. Just like the other models mentioned it is safe for drinking water and pretty much any temperature you could subject it to, all the way down to -40 degrees F.
This does not have the same SwivelGrip ends, but this doesn’t mean it is any more likely to leak. A high-quality O-ring is designed to keep the water flowing and within the hose instead of spraying around your yard.
The other main difference from the HFZG575YWS is the length. This is a 50 feet model, which is still long enough for the majority of small to medium sized yards.
Flexzilla Pro Water Hose with Reusable Fittings
The brand has catered for those who need something even more hard-wearing, too. The Flexzilla ‘Pro’ is designed for people who use their hose all the time and therefore may need to make repairs.
The main difference between this and the standard range is the fact that it can be field repaired. By following the tips in the YouTube video we’ve already shared, you can fix any leaks that the hose has sprung. This is why it is popular among builders and tradespeople who use it in industrial settings on a daily basis.
The option to fix the hose yourself is very useful for some. If you are just using this around your backyard at home, this feature may be overkill. The hoses are generally strong enough not to get damaged easily anyway.
For the extra features and the fact you can repair it yourself so simply, you will pay a little extra for this hose. The other models mentioned are more affordable.
Another difference from the other models reviewed is the reusable fittings, which have bend reinforcement, meaning that it won’t get worn around the fitting as easily as some other models.
The Pro model is 100 ft long, so it is perfect for use in larger industrial settings.
In spite of being very rugged, the Flexzilla Pro is still just as lightweight as the other options. Some have estimated it to be around half the weight of most other hoses, which can be very helpful if you are transporting to and from jobs.
The Pro model won the 2013 AAPEX Show innovation award.
Because of the fact it is designed to take a bit of a beating on a day-to-day basis, there isn’t a lifetime guarantee with the Pro. There is a 2-year warranty included with this model, though.
Which garden hose you need will depend on the size of your garden and the environment in which you use it. You need something reliable that can last long term without getting kinks and making life difficult.
The Flexzilla range has a lot of flexibility and they are lightweight and will avoid getting kinks in them similar to these no kink hoses. Their products are also drinking water safe and aren’t prone to get stuck in position. It’s such a great garden hose brand that we even added it to our list of the best gardening tools to have.
For the individual products we recommend, you can click on the links below.
If you have a small or medium sized garden then you could opt for the 50 feet long option, the HFZG550YWS .
If you are concerned about the size and feel like you may need a little extra, the HFZG575YWS sold on Amazon provides not just extra length, but the SwivelGrip ends.
The Pro model may be a good option if you think you are likely to experience a lot of wear and tear and will avoid you having to buy a new hose if you get a leak.
To make the watering process of your garden more efficient, in addition to a garden hose, consider buying a watering wand. Read my garden wand reviews to find out which one suits your needs the best.
